The Dubrule family:
training excellence for a better future
In 1998, during a trip to Siem Reap, Paul Dubrule recognized the urgent need for vocational training in Cambodia, a country whose educational system had been deeply weakened by its recent history.
Drawing on his extensive experience in the international hospitality industry, he made a foundational decision: to create a school capable of offering Cambodian youth a high-quality professional education, directly connected to industry standards and the realities of the job market. Thus, the École d'Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule was established under the NGO Formation et Progrès-Cambodge.
Today, Eléonore Mueth-Dubrule, the founder’s daughter, continues this vision as President of the School. This family commitment is further sustained through the Fondation Paul Dubrule in Switzerland and the Fonds de dotation CLEA in France, which support the school and, more broadly, initiatives dedicated to education and training.

Since its opening in 2002, EHT Paul Dubrule has been shaped by six directors, each contributing to the school's development and evolution. From establishing its foundations to strengthening international recognition, expanding opportunities for students and developing new approaches to vocational education, their successive leadership has helped build the institution it is today.
François Schnoebelen
Director | 2021 - Present
François Schnoebelen has led EHT through a period of strong development in sustainability, international cooperation and pedagogical innovation. Under his leadership, the school joined the UNESCO-UNEVOC network, achieved and renewed its Eco-Campus Green Flag certification, introduced specialized sommelier training and strengthened training in five-star and luxury hospitality standards, including LQA. He has also expanded international opportunities for students through training programmes and partnerships, particularly with France. In 2025, EHT became host to the Destination Eco-Talents Center, developed with the OIF, extending the school's work in sustainable tourism, skills development and employment beyond the campus.
Helga Nagy
Director | 2016 - 2021
Helga Nagy led EHT through a period of educational transformation, social impact and international development, opening the school to international opportunities for students. She spearheaded the EHL-supported Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management, transformed the ASEAN curriculum through e-learning and LMS adoption, and developed partnerships that enabled students to gain international experience, including with Accor. She built strong partnerships with IOM, ILO, GIZ, SDC and ASSET-HC, strengthening vocational education and employment opportunities for migrant workers and advancing inclusive socio-economic development. She also established EHT’s annual Entrepreneur Challenge, enabling students and alumni to develop their business ideas.
David Calvet
Director | 2012 - 2016
David Calvet led the school through a period of major academic and institutional development. He standardized and transformed the curriculum to align EHT with ASEAN hospitality standards, strengthening its position as a leading professional training institution in Cambodia. In 2015, EHT signed its educational partnership with EHL Hospitality Business School, establishing an important international dimension to the school's academic development. During his tenure, annual student capacity grew to 300, the CLEA Amphitheatre was completed, and the training hotel rooms were renovated, significantly improving the school's facilities and learning environment.
Gérald Hougardy
Director | 2009 - 2012
Gérald Hougardy oversaw a major phase of expansion as demand for hospitality training continued to grow. During his tenure, five new classrooms and additional facilities were developed, helping increase the school's capacity and strengthen its learning environment. The expansion also included new facilities supporting student life and practical training. Gérald guided the school through its 10th anniversary, celebrated in 2012, marking a decade of professional hospitality and tourism training in Siem Reap and setting the foundations for its next phase of development.
Béatrice Baranger
Director | 2004 - 2009
Béatrice Baranger led EHT Paul Dubrule during a period of growth and consolidation. She strengthened its practical, industry-oriented approach, introducing the Preparatory Hospitality Course and intensifying English-language tuition to meet Cambodia's growing hospitality industry. Under her leadership, EHT deepened its engagement with students, employers and the community, trained more than 1,000 Cambodians, and expanded its facilities and connections. Her tenure was also marked by a visit from His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, while EHT strengthened its position as a training institution for Cambodia's hospitality and tourism sector.
Bernard Creff
Director | 2002 - 2004
Bernard Creff led EHT Paul Dubrule during its founding years and oversaw the opening of the school following Paul Dubrule's 15,272-kilometre cycling journey from Fontainebleau to Siem Reap. He welcomed the school's first intake of 67 students and helped establish the foundations of an institution created to provide young Cambodians with professional training in hospitality and tourism. Since leaving the school, Bernard has continued to support its development through fundraising events, his involvement with the CLEA Board in France, and by supporting EHT students during their internships in Brittany.
